How to Use VidQuill
Step-by-step guides for every tool — Studio, Title Generator, Description Generator, and Tag Generator.
How to Use Studio
StudioStudio is the all-in-one workflow that connects every step — keyword → title → description → tags — in one session. Instead of jumping between separate tools, you start with your video idea here and VidQuill carries that context through every output so your whole SEO package stays consistent.
Enter your video topic
Type the subject of your video — for example, 'best budget gaming mouse 2026'. Be as specific as possible. The more focused your topic, the more relevant every output will be.
Review keyword suggestions
VidQuill shows you a list of keyword ideas based on your topic. Each keyword comes with an estimated search volume and competition level. Pick the one primary keyword that best matches what your video is actually about.
Generate your title
Using the keyword you selected, Studio generates multiple title options. Each title is scored for SEO strength and click-through potential. Pick the one that sounds natural and matches your video's tone.
Build your description
Studio passes your keyword and title into the description step automatically. You can toggle optional sections on or off — timestamps, links, a support block, or other channels — then generate a full, ready-to-copy description.
Get your tags and hashtags
The final step generates up to 30 scored keyword tags plus 5 trending hashtags, all tied to the same topic you started with. Copy the strongest tags straight into YouTube's tag field.
Keep your topic to one clear subject per session — don't mix two video ideas.
You can regenerate any step without losing the others.
Use Studio when you want a full SEO package in one go rather than using tools one by one.
How to Use the Title Generator
Title GeneratorThe Title Generator creates multiple high-CTR YouTube titles from your keyword. A great title does two things at once: it tells YouTube's algorithm what your video is about, and it makes a real viewer want to click. VidQuill scores each option so you can choose with confidence instead of guessing.
Enter your primary keyword
Type the main keyword you are targeting — for example, 'how to grow tomatoes indoors'. This is the phrase you want your video to rank for in YouTube search.
Choose your video category or tone
Select the type of content — tutorial, review, listicle, comparison, or vlog. This helps the generator match the right title style to your video format.
Review the generated titles
You get several title options, each scored for SEO strength, clarity, and curiosity. The score tells you how well each title balances the keyword with a hook that makes people want to click.
Pick and copy your title
Choose the title that best fits your video's tone and audience. You can regenerate as many times as you need. Once you have the right one, copy it straight into YouTube Studio.
Keep titles under 60 characters so they don't get cut off in search results.
Put your keyword in the first 3–5 words where YouTube and viewers notice it first.
Use numbers or power words (Ultimate, Proven, Complete) to increase clicks.
How to Use the Description Generator
Description GeneratorThe Description Generator builds a full, structured YouTube description that is optimised for both search and readability. A good description is not just a summary — it is a chance to place your keyword where YouTube reads it most, and to give viewers helpful context that keeps them engaged.
Enter your video title and keyword
Paste the title you picked and the primary keyword you are targeting. The generator uses both to write a description that stays on-topic and naturally includes your keyword where it matters most.
Toggle optional sections
Choose which extra sections to include: timestamps (great for longer videos), links to your social media or website, a support block (Patreon, memberships), or a note pointing viewers to your other channels. Toggle only what applies to this video.
Generate and review your description
VidQuill writes the full description and shows you a live SEO score, keyword density, readability grade, and character count. These metrics tell you whether the description is ready to publish or needs a small tweak.
Swap in your real links and copy
The generated description uses placeholder links. Before you copy it into YouTube, replace those placeholders with your actual social media URLs, website, or channel links.
Your keyword should appear in the first two sentences — that is where YouTube weighs it most.
Aim for a readability grade of A or B so viewers can skim it easily.
Add timestamps if your video is longer than 5 minutes to improve watch time.
How to Use the Tag Generator
Tag GeneratorThe Tag Generator creates up to 30 scored keyword tags and 5 trending hashtags for your video. Tags help YouTube understand what your video is about and connect it to related searches — including searches you did not directly target. Each tag is scored so you know which ones are worth adding.
Enter your video topic or keyword
Type your video's main topic or the primary keyword you are targeting. The generator will build a tag set that covers your exact topic, related categories, and specific long-tail phrases viewers might search for.
Review the scored tags
Each tag comes with a quality score. Higher-scored tags are more relevant and more likely to help YouTube place your video in the right searches. You do not need all 30 — pick the 10–15 strongest ones.
Copy the hashtags
The 5 trending hashtags are separate from the tags. Paste them at the very end of your video description (not in YouTube's tag field). YouTube reads them there and shows them above your video title as clickable links.
Paste tags into YouTube Studio
In YouTube Studio, open your video details and find the Tags field. Paste your selected tags there. YouTube's tag field accepts comma-separated or line-break-separated tags.
Copy only the highest-scored tags — quality beats quantity.
Mix your exact keyword, a few broad category terms, and a handful of long-tail phrases.
Hashtags go at the end of your description, not in the tag field — they are different things.
