1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and serve relevant content and advertisements.
Cookies can be:
- Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a defined period or until you delete them
- First-party cookies — set by VidQuill directly
- Third-party cookies — set by our trusted partners (e.g. ad networks, analytics providers)
2. How VidQuill Uses Cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
✅ Strictly Necessary
These cookies are required for the website to function properly. They cannot be disabled. They include cookies that remember your cookie consent choice and basic session information.
⚙️ Functional
These cookies improve your experience by remembering your preferences, such as your chosen colour theme (dark or light mode), so you don't have to reset it on every visit.
📊 Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with VidQuill in aggregate — which tools are most used, how long people stay, and where they come from. This data is anonymised and does not personally identify you.
📢 Advertising
VidQuill is a free service supported by advertising. Our advertising partner — Google AdSense — uses cookies to serve ads that are relevant to you. These cookies may track your browsing behaviour across multiple websites to build an interest profile for ad targeting.

4. Your Choices and How to Manage Cookies
You have full control over cookies. Here are your options:
Via our Cookie Banner
When you first visit VidQuill, a cookie consent banner is displayed. You can accept all cookies or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is saved for 12 months. To change your choice, clear your browser cookies and revisit the site.
Via Your Browser Settings
All modern browsers allow you to block, delete, or restrict cookies. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of VidQuill (for example, your theme preference may reset on each visit).
Browser guides:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data

5. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites. VidQuill does not currently alter its behaviour in response to DNT signals, as there is no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to them. You can use the opt-out methods in Section 4 to control tracking.
6. Cookies and Children
We do not knowingly use cookies to collect personal information from children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). If you believe a child is using VidQuill, please contact us.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use or when partners update their technologies. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
